The Burrow

We are committed to delivering a fully inclusive environment by providing equitable opportunities for all. Our approach is underpinned by our core values of collaboration, inclusion, ambition, innovation and nurture.

The Burrow at Lansdowne facilitates our inclusive principles and is designed to support children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

The Burrow provides an alternative provision room designed to support students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This nurturing environment enables children to explore and understand a range of emotions while developing essential coping strategies. Individualised support is central to our bespoke curriculum, tailored to meet the specific needs and targets of each student as identified by the Boxall profile.

The Burrow encourages meaningful relationships with both peers and adults, fostering a sense of community. Through carefully structured activities, students are equipped with the skills necessary to reintegrate successfully into the classroom and navigate their educational journey with confidence.

  • Planning (based around interests of children and needs identified in Boxall profile) is carried out by our nurture lead in conjunction with class teacher and support from SLT.
  • Short burst academic tasks are carried out alongside nurture activities such as cooking, art work and building.
  • Children access their home classroom at different points during the day.
